Linwood North Carolina Community Information
Just south of Lexington is the unincorporated area known as Linwood, North Carolina in Davidson County. It was named for the nearby plantation of William Rainey Holt (1798-1868), who was a physician and early innovator in farming techniques who lived in the area. Three major transportation system service the area, Interstate 85, the Davidson County Airport, and Norfolk South Railways Spencer classification yard. The area is home to several important companies in Davidson County, including Keply Hardwood, Legget-Platt, PPG Industries and Kimberly Clark.
